Pirtek Racing Set For Two More Years
Pirtek Racing are set to remain in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship for at the very least, two more years.
The back-to-back Independents Teams champions have a couple of campaigns still with Pirtek as their main sponsors, with the option for that to be extended nearer the time.
Andrew Jordan, the brand new BTCC champion, has been at the squad from the beginning and has somewhat had the tight family team built around him. With back-to-back Indie drivers title as well as the overall crown, Jordan is one of the best touring car drivers in the UK, as well as Europe and is looking forward to continuing his affiliation in the series.
The 2013 drivers champion told BTCC Crazy: “We have another two years at least in this championship which is brilliant because Pirtek have been awesome ever since they jumped on board.
“It is great to have some stability and move forward from this year, I can’t wait.”
Mike Jordan confirmed to BTCC Crazy at the series that whilst Honda Yuasa Racing are set to change cars, Pirtek Racing will not. The reason being is that the team, which is run out of a chicken farm, have a few more things to get out of the Civic as well as the budget not allowing a change in the current economic climate.
Jordan is yet to decide if he is to run #1 on his NGTC machine next year, especially as he has an affiliation with the #77 which he has run these last few years.
Jeff Smith has been the new champions team mate for the past two seasons however it is not confirmed upon whether he will return to the BTCC next campaign.
