Brett Smith delighted with career best finish of fourth
Brett Smith was left delighted after scoring his best finish to date in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, taking the chequered flag in fourth at Donington Park.
Starting ninth on the prime tyre, the WIX Racing with Eurotech driver produce a stellar drive to scythe his way through the top ten to narrowly miss out on a rostrum finish – making a host of notable overtakes along the way.
“It is a great start to the day,” Smith said. “I matched my best qualifying performance yesterday, I really felt that I maximised everything with the car.
“The car felt really good in the race and being on the medium tyre, we knew that we were going to be able to pounce on a few that were running the harder compound.
“In my head I thought that we might be able to sneak a top five in race two but it felt like everyone was sitting still at times on track. They were sitting on the inside and I was able to mix up my lines and pull off a few daring moves.
“I’m happy to have come home in fourth and now we need to try and build from this in the remaining races.”
