Warren Scott hopeful race one fire won’t end Oulton Park weekend
Warren Scott has confirmed that Team BMR have not had a repeat of the fuel line issue which caused them to withdraw from Thruxton.
The Subaru Levorg racer was forced to pull over at the end of race one as his rear-wheel-drive machine became engulfed in flames. Despite fears mounting that it was to be the same issue that forced James Cole out of Donington Park, Scott confirmed it was an oil fire.
“It looks like a stone in the oil cooler,” Scott explained. “Different problem, same result. I think the issue had started earlier before the fire actually broke out. Hopefully I can be out for race two but the team have a quick turnaround – if not we will be back out on track in the third race because we have to make sure everything is fixed properly.”
Race two is scheduled to get underway within the next hour.
