Allison To Miss Remainder Of Season
Norfolk Clio Cup racer Matt Allison will be forced to miss out on the final two rounds of the AirAsia Clio Cup 2011 season due to budget issues.
Driving for Scuderia Vittoria and having won twice this season already, Allison is naturally disappointed to be missing out on the Rockingham and Brands Hatch GP rounds of the Championship.
“It’s obviously disappointing,” he said. “Our results were strong and i didn’t have any issues with the team, but a sponsorship deal that should have come off, didn’t.”
As yet Allison’s plans for 2012 are undecided, but the team are hopeful their other driver Luke Wright’s recent dominance at the World Series by Renault will help them attract someone to fill the seat for these rounds.
Piers Maserati, one of the team’s founders said; “It was quite tight for Matt and there was a bit of damage from the Snetterton round. It’s a pity because he’d won a race and had good momentum.”
“Luke did so well at Silverstone we’re hopeful of getting someone out.”
