Ex-BTCC Star Allison To Mount Clio Cup Title Assault

It was confirmed today that former British Touring Car driver, Matt Allison, will return to racing in the Renault Clio up after been out of racing for over four years.

Allison, who took the GTC class in the British GT in ’06 will drive for Scuderia Vittoria said “It’s nice to be back.” It won’t be the first time Allison has driven in the Clio Cup as he finished 3rd in ’05.

Speaking to Autosport he said, “One lap pace comes back fairly quickly, but it’s the racecraft you get rusty on.

“I’ve had success in Clio’s before, so hopefully that can continue. I would be disappointed if we weren’t in the hunt for the championship.”
