Luke Wright signs with new Scuderia Vittoria team
Luke Wright has announced his switch from Formula Renault BARC to the Airasia Renault Clio Cup for the 2011 season by agreeing a deal with the new Scuderia Vittoria team.
The 18 year old went out for his debut test session at Brands Hatch last week, and then went on to put in some quick times in the wet at Thruxton.
Speaking to Autosport, SV team boss Danny Buxton said: “I have never been so excited about a driver getting on the pace so quickly.”
“He’s formed a great relationship with our engineer Kev Whittaker, and whenever we spotted something with his driving we’d get the message to him and the very next lap he changed which is rare for a driver of his age. He’s just got to work on being smoother on his front tyres.”
Wright went on to add: “If we carry on the way we’re going a title shot isn’t out of the question.”
Scuderia Vittoria is considering running another, third car, to partner Wright and team mate Matt Allison.
